Saturday - 2 Hour Lesson

Service Description

Choose between a private 2 hour session in wheel-throwing techniques or handbuilding. In a Throwing lesson you will learn to throw cylinders and bowls with me! This class aims to equip you with the basic throwing skills you need to make almost any shape on the wheel. After a brief introduction and demo you will have the session to practice on the wheel with my support and guidance. In this lesson my aim is to give you the tools you need to be able to practice throwing on your own. Or book a Handbuilding lesson and learn to make your own blobs and creatures! Handbuilding is a fun and expressive activity for all ages. My sessions aim to teach you fundamental techniques such as pinch potting, coiling and sculpting. As the lesson progresses I can assist you with your creation and give insight into fun techniques to really bring out the character in your design. I have many reference images from a diverse range of artists to inspire your creative side. Session prices include up to 4kgs of clay per person and the firing of your pieces (to 1220C). Fired pieces can be collected from the studio 4 weeks after the class, or they can be posted out at an additional cost. In throwing lessons, one wheel will be available per pair of participants. One person will be at the wheel at a time so that pairs can take turns and learn from each other throughout the session. Pieces will be trimmed for you prior to firing to prevent any rough edges. Please wear suitable clothing to your session, it will get messy! (If you have long nails you may want to trim them before the session.) Our studio is located in Unit 4 (Studio 4D) within Deemouth Artist Studios. When you arrive to your session you will find us to the right of the "Project Space" through the grey door on the ground floor of Unit 4. There is limited parking available at the studio on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please do not park in spaces with signs dedicated to specific businesses in the courtyard. Cancellation Policy

To reschedule, please contact us with at least 72 hours (3 days) notice. To cancel, please contact us with at least 10 days notice to receive a full refund. Cancellations with less than 10 days notice will be entitled to a 50% refund. Cancellations with less than 72 hours (3 days) notice will not receive a refund.
